OAG Admin Console Shows Warning for Certificate in Settings Page
Access Gateway
Okta Classic Engine
Okta Identity Engine
Overview

In the OAG Admin Console > the Settings page will display a warning message:

The certificate identifier has been updated to use the cert filename instead of the symbolic link. You may choose to review the Certificates section before saving

This message may also be briefly displayed when creating a new OAG application.

Warning message

Applies To
  • Okta Access Gateway (OAG)
Cause

This message indicates that the component of the OAG Admin Console does not yet have a certificate selected.

Within the OAG Settings page, this generally indicates that a default host certificate has not yet been selected. This message may be briefly displayed within the settings for a newly created OAG application, as the system has not yet bound a certificate to the new application.

Solution

Configure a default host certificate per the following Associate a default host certificate using the Access Gateway Admin UI console documentation to no longer see this message on the OAG Settings page.
