Okta Access Certification Campaign Fails to Assign Managers as Reviewers
Last Updated:
Overview
When an Okta Identity Governance (OIG) Access Certification Campaign fails to assign a manager as a reviewer, Okta assigns the fallback reviewer instead. This occurs because the user profile contains incorrectly populated manager information in the ManagerId attribute, or the attribute does not match the username or Okta ID of the manager. Resolve this issue by updating the user profile attribute to match the manager's username or Okta ID and designating a single Okta user as the fallback reviewer.
Applies To
- Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
- Okta Classic Engine
- Okta Identity Governance (OIG)
- Access Certification
- Campaign Reviews
Cause
The user profile contains incorrect manager information in the ManagerId attribute, or the attribute does not match the manager's username or Okta ID, as shown in the user profile interface.
Solution
The manager reviewer option requires specific attribute configuration.
Configure the manager reviewer option by setting the appropriate user profile attribute to match the manager's username or Okta ID.
- To use the Manager reviewer option in the campaign setup, set the ManagerId attribute on the user profile to the manager's username (login) or Okta ID.
- If using the Custom reviewer option to point to another attribute that holds the manager (for example,
user.profile.manager), ensure this attribute on the user profile matches the manager's username (login) or Okta ID.
Select the manager reviewer option and specify a fallback reviewer in the campaign setup interface.
What designates the fallback reviewer?
Designate a single Okta user as the fallback reviewer to meet the standard Okta Identity Governance interface requirements for Access Certification Campaigns.
