Introducing Integrator Free Orgs
API Access Management
Okta Classic Engine
Okta Identity Engine
Overview

Starting May 22, 2025, new developer.okta.com sign-ups will be created under the Integrator Free Plan. The updated Okta Developer Edition terms will explicitly state that both the old Developer Edition and the new Integrator organization are not to be used as a production environment.

Applies To
  • Okta Developer Organizations(Orgs), created prior to May 22 2025 at developer.okta.com/signup and with a subdomain like dev-0123456789
  • Migrate from Okta Developer Edition to Integrator Free Plan
  • Submissions to the Okta Integration Network (OIN)
Cause

As part of Okta's Secure Identity Commitment (OSIC) to strengthen customer protection against identity attacks, Okta is improving our architecture for developer organizations. Our redesigned developer orgs now better align with your development needs. The new Integrator Free Plan is specifically designed for iterative development—whether testing app integrations, validating identity flows, or preparing for OIN submission. Note that it is not intended for production deployment.

Solution

For customers currently using an Okta Developer Edition org, create a new Integrator organization and migrate to it.  Integrator free orgs will become the default option on the existing developer sign up page. Below is information on migrating resources from Okta Developer Edition to the Integrator Free Plan:

  • Migrating data is optional: To start fresh with a new Integrator Free Plan organization, simply create one and begin using it without migrating existing Okta Developer Edition data. Developer Edition resources and configuration will be deleted when the old organization is deactivated in July.
  • Use our migration tool for one-off organization backups: To capture a snapshot of your current Okta Developer Edition configuration, our migration tool can help. It uses the Okta CLI Client to create files representing all supported objects in the Developer Edition organization. These backup files can then automatically recreate many objects in the new Integrator Free Plan organization.
  • Migrate your public OIN Integration: For OIN integrations tied to your Developer Edition organization, sign up for a new Integrator Free Plan organization and contact Developer Support (developers@okta.com) to migrate your integration. For any pending OIN integrations, migrate work from the Developer Edition to an Integrator Free Plan organization.
