This article addresses a situation in which one user is enrolled in Okta Verify from multiple devices, and an Admin wants to determine which specific device was used by the user to authenticate.
- Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
- Okta Verify on more than one device
When authenticating with Okta Verify, depending on how the Authentication Policy that the user is hitting when trying to log in is configured, a user might be asked for:
- Okta Verify One-Time Password (OTP) - In this case, Okta cannot determine the device used since there is no probing of the device.
- Okta Verify Push - this kind of challenge will show the device model used as a RawUserAgent.
- Okta FastPass - this method will show the exact device used for authentication.
NOTE: All the above Okta Verify options might not be available for all tenants (respectively, Okta Verify Push and Okta FastPass), as they might require certain paid features to be enabled.
