How is Okta Verify configured as a third-party authenticator?

Add a third-party account to Okta Verify by navigating to the security settings of the external website, generating a QR code or setup key, and scanning or entering the information into the Okta Verify application.
NOTE: Ensure the account protected by Okta Verify resides on a website that supports Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Log in to the desired third-party website (for example, LinkedIn, GitHub, or Facebook).
- Navigate to the Security menu or the specific menu used to configure two-factor authentication.
- Follow the steps indicated by the website to set up the authenticator until a QR code appears.
NOTE: Some websites provide a setup key instead of, or in addition to, a QR code. - Launch the Okta Verify application.
- Select the + sign to add an account.
- Choose Other and select Scan a QR Code. If the website lacks a QR code, choose Enter Key Manually.
- Scan the QR code that appears on the third-party site, or enter the Account Name and the Key that the website provides.
- Select Done. The newly added account appears in the Okta Verify application.
- Enter the six-digit authentication code from the Okta Verify application when the site prompts for verification during the next login.
NOTE: Although Okta Verify has push and number challenge capabilities, Okta Verify only provides the six-digit code when functioning as a third-party authenticator.
