How to Get Metadata URI from the Custom Authorization Server Pointing to Custom Domain

Overview
This article addresses the issues that might be encountered while trying to get the custom authorization server metadata URI for the custom domain within the Okta Admin dashboard.

Cause
Unable to retrieve the custom authorization server metadata URI for the custom domain and only able to get the metadata URI for the Okta domain, i.e., https://mytenantoktapreview.com/oauth2/default/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server.
Solution
If an admin is only able to get the authorization server metadata URI for the Okta domain and needs to get the metadata URI for the custom domain, please follow the steps below.
- In the Okta Admin dashboard, navigate to Security > API.
- Select the custom authorization server and, on the screen below, click the Edit button in the General section. Then, for the Issuer, choose the Custom URL.
