Exclude the Zoom License UserType Attribute When Pushing a User Profile from Okta

Okta Classic Engine
Okta Identity Engine
Okta Integration Network

Overview

When Okta pushes a user profile update to Zoom, it overwrites the licenses that Zoom manages. Prevent Okta from overwriting the userType attribute, which represents the Zoom license, by removing the attribute mapping and deleting the attribute in the Okta Admin Console.

Applies To

  • Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
  • Okta Classic Engine
  • Zoom
  • Provisioning
  • Attributes
  • Mappings

Solution

NOTE: Okta does not support partial profile push. During a profile update, Okta pushes the application user's full profile, including attributes set to Apply mapping on user create only and Do Not map.

How is the Zoom license attribute excluded during a profile push?

Stop Okta from overwriting the userType attribute in Zoom by removing the active mapping and deleting the attribute in the Okta Admin Console by following these steps.

  1. Navigate to Directory > Profile Editor in the Okta Admin Console.
  2. Search for the Zoom application and select it.
  3. Search for the userType attribute.
  4. Select Mappings, verify if an active mapping exists for the userType attribute, and remove the mapping.
  5. Delete the userType attribute.
