Users occasionally need to change their Okta-sourced password. The user can update their password by navigating to the account settings in the End-User Dashboard and managing their security methods.

How does a user reset an Okta-sourced password?
Navigate to the account settings in the End-User Dashboard, select Security Methods, and complete the password reset prompts.
- Sign in to the Okta tenant at
https://<subdomain>.okta.com - Select the username at the uppermost-right to reveal a dropdown menu of user options, then select Account settings.
- If Okta prompts for Multifactor Authentication (MFA), approve the MFA factor to proceed to the Account Settings Home at
https://<subdomain>.okta.com/account-settings/home. - Select Manage security methods.
- In the Security Methods section, select Update next to Password. NOTE: If the password authenticator is missing, contact the IT Administrator to investigate.
- Okta displays a Reset Password warning asking, "Are you sure you want to reset Password?". Select Yes.
- Okta redirects the user to the Okta Sign-In Widget to complete the password change.
- If the password policy requires an additional step, approve the MFA factor.
- Verify the current user password.
- Enter the new password in both fields and select Reset Password.
