Solution

Follow the steps or video below.



Manual User Addition:

  1. Access the Admin Console,
  2. Select Directory, and then People.
  3. Click Add person.
  4. Choose a user type, either default or from a provided list.
  5. Enter user details: First name, Last name, and Username (in email format).
    • Include primary email if different from username.
    • Add a secondary email (optional).
    • Assign user to groups if necessary.
    • Set password (decide if the user or admin sets it).
    • Choose activation options, including sending an activation email and password change requirements at first login.
  6. Click Save or Save and Add Another to continue adding users.

Just-In-Time Provisioning:

  1. Access the Admin Console.
  2. Go to Directory > Directory Integrations.
  3. Select an Active Directory instance.
  4. Access the Provisioning tab and select To Okta.
  5. Click Edit in the General section.
  6. Enable JIT provisioning by ticking the Create and update users on login checkbox.
  7. Save the settings.
    • NOTE: JIT provisioning is effective only for users without existing Okta profiles. It updates existing profiles during a full import.
