A common cause is that the SSO profile assignment is set to None on the Google Workspace integration.

As this issue is related to a setting that does not allow profiles to be updated by Third-party SSO, please check the Google Admin audit log, Reporting > Audit, to verify any changes around the time the issue started.

In Google Admin, go to Security > SSO with third-party IDPs > Manage SSO profile assignments > SSO profile assignment: None > change to SSO profile assignment.
