Configure an Okta SCIM Integration to Use PUT Requests Instead of PATCH When Updating Users
Last Updated:
Overview
When submitting a System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) integration to the Okta Integration Network (OIN), configure the integration to use PUT requests instead of PATCH when updating users. The OIN Wizard manages this configuration during the submission process.
Applies To
- Okta Classic Engine
- Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
- System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) provisioning integration
- Okta Integration Network (OIN)
Solution
What steps configure an Okta SCIM integration to use PUT requests instead of PATCH?
Submit the SCIM integration to the Okta Integration Network via the OIN Wizard and configure the PATCH support settings.
- If the SCIM integration supports
PATCHrequests for user operations, select Support PATCH for User when submitting the SCIM integration. - Ensure the SCIM server supports
PATCHfor Group operations if the integration supports this functionality.
Review the SCIM properties configuration in the OIN Wizard.
NOTE: SCIM integrations created using the Application Integration Wizard (for example, custom applications) use PUT by default, and do not support reconfiguration to use PATCH for updates.
