Okta Error When Assigning a User to the AWS App: Value Failed to Satisfy Constraint
Last Updated:
Overview
An error occurs when assigning a user to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) integration in Okta because a mapping in the Profile Editor pushes quotation marks instead of a null value. Resolve this issue by adjusting the mapping in the Profile Editor or modifying the value on the user profile. When assigning a user to the AWS integration in Okta, the following error message appears on the Tasks page:

What steps resolve the AWS assignment error?
Preview the mappings set for the AWS IAM Identity Center, identify the attribute that populates quotation marks or symbols, and adjust the mapping or the user profile value.
- Navigate to Directory, select Profile Editor, and choose AWS IAM Identity Center User.
- Select Mappings and choose Okta User to AWS IAM Identity Center User.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Search for the user experiencing the error in the Preview section.
- Determine if one of the attributes populates quotations or any other symbol.
- Adjust the mapping in the Profile Editor, or modify the value in the AppUser or Okta User profile if any value contains quotation marks or other special characters.
- Replace the quotation with a null or different value.
- Navigate to the Tasks page.
- Search for the affected user's error and retry the task.
- Contact AWS support to determine which field receives an unsupported value if the error persists.
