Users might try to use the Recovery Factor Enrollment for SMS or Voice, and after doing the verification process, they receive the error message:
success undefined: undefined.
The factor is successfully enrolled despite the error message received.
- Recovery Factor Enrollment
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- SMS factor
- Voice factor
This can happen to users who already have another MFA factor enrolled and have just been allowed to use the Recovery Factor Enrollment feature for factors (which means users previously were not part of a group allowed to do Recovery Factor Enrollment for SMS / Voice / Email).
The error is only for UI and does not stop the factor from being enrolled. However, the following methods can be used to avoid the message from being displayed:
- Ensure newly created users are assigned to a group allowing Recovery Factor Enrollment.
- Ensure SMS / Voice is the first factor enrolled for users.
- Contact Okta Support to enable a Feature Flag that addresses this issue.
