The following error message might be seen in System logs.
Device Trust certificate issuance FAILURE: The feature was not enabled by the admin.
This article explains why this error is seen.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
- Device Trust
The error occurs because the organization is trying to issue device trust certificates using the outdated Classic Device Registration process, which is no longer supported after migrating to Okta Identity Engine (OIE).
This error does not impact users or their ability to obtain certificates from the MDM (Mobile Device Management) system, which are required for OIE device management.
To resolve this issue, it is recommended to remove the legacy Classic Device Trust configuration after OIE migration.
