End of Support for 32-bit Okta Verify on Windows

Okta Verify
Okta Classic Engine
Okta Identity Engine

Overview

Okta stopped releasing updates and security fixes for the 32-bit Okta Verify installer starting on March 31, 2026, due to Microsoft ending support for Windows 10. Administrators must retire or upgrade 32-bit Windows devices to 64-bit operating systems to ensure continued security and support. The 32-bit Okta Verify application continues to function on existing devices, but Okta limits auto-updates and blocks new installations according to a phased schedule.

Applies To

  • Okta Verify
  • 32-bit Windows devices

Solution

What is the impact schedule for 32-bit Okta Verify on Windows?

Effective March 31, 2026, Okta stopped releasing updates and security fixes for the 32-bit version of the Okta Verify for Windows installer. The installer no longer includes a 32-bit build, and auto-updates for 32-bit devices cease. This change aligns with Microsoft's announcement of the End-of-Support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. Continuing to build and support the 32-bit installer is no longer tenable for maintaining a strong security posture without operating system security patches.

Review the following impact dates for the 32-bit Okta Verify application on Windows:

  • March 31, 2026: Windows Okta Verify 6.8 limits auto-updates on 32-bit devices.
  • April 28, 2026: Windows Okta Verify 6.9 blocks the installation of Okta Verify on new 32-bit devices.
  • May 26, 2026: Windows Okta Verify 6.10 blocks all installations.

Administrators must upgrade 32-bit Windows devices to 64-bit operating systems.

While Okta Verify continues to function on existing 32-bit devices, those devices have become increasingly vulnerable. These devices do not receive future security fixes, new product features, or general updates from Okta. Okta does not address newly discovered bugs or security vulnerabilities on 32-bit systems.

Administrators should retire or upgrade all 32-bit Windows devices to 64-bit operating systems as soon as possible. NOTE: Purchasing extended support for Windows 10 from Microsoft does not extend support for the 32-bit Okta Verify for Windows installer.
