Enable the Auditor Read-Only Admin Role in Okta
Last Updated:
Overview
Okta disables the Auditor (Read-Only) admin role by default, and Okta Support must enable it for a tenant. Administrators attempting to assign the Auditor role in the Okta Admin Console cannot find or select it because the feature remains inactive.
Applies To
- Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
- Okta Classic Engine
- Administrator Roles
Cause
The Auditor (Read-Only) mode is a feature that Okta disables by default. Administrators cannot assign the Auditor role in tenants where the feature remains inactive.
Solution
How does an administrator enable the Auditor role?
Request the activation of the Auditor role through Okta Support to make it available for assignment in the Okta Admin Console.
- Contact Okta Support and request the activation of the Auditor (Read-Only) mode for the tenant.
After Okta Support enables the feature, the Auditor role becomes available for assignment to users or groups from the admin role assignment screen in the Okta Admin Console.
