The following reconfiguration has been identified as part of the preparation needed to perform the upgrade to Okta Identity Engine (OIE).

NOTE: Additional Okta features may need to be reconfigured or disabled to complete the upgrade. This article provides information regarding the EMAIL_2FA_AUTHN feature, which is identified during preparations to upgrade from Classic Engine to the Okta Identity Engine (OIE). The feature is disabled as part of the upgrade.

No action is required for the upgrade to proceed. This feature enablement does not prevent the OIE upgrade.

After the upgrade, this setting is no longer required and has no impact on the OIE tenant's functionality.

As a best practice, contact the Account Team to convert the Okta tenant to the "SKU edition" to align with standard product offerings.

NOTE: In the event of a rollback to Classic Engine, contact Okta Support to re-enable the EMAIL_2FA_AUTHN feature.
