Overview

The default system IP zone in Okta is a system-managed zone type used internally for baseline network evaluation. While the general documentation states that the default system IP zone supports up to 5000 gateway IPs for standard network zoning, the current implementation limits this zone to 150 gateways.

Applies To

  • Okta Identity Engine (OIE)

  • Network Zones
  • Default System IP Zone

Solution

What are the limits of the default system IP zone?

The default system IP zone is a system-managed zone type that Okta uses internally for baseline network evaluation. The current implementation limits this zone to a maximum of 150 gateways. While general documentation for IP zones mentions that the default system IP zone supports up to 5000 gateway IPs, that limit applies to the default system IP zone used for standard network zoning. Although it technically supports up to 5000 entries, Okta does not expose this zone in the Okta Admin Console or through the public API for modification.
