This knowledge article provides a step-by-step guide for Admin users on how to set up Bookmark Apps in Okta, allowing for direct links to specific web pages without credentials. Utilizing Okta's interface, the process includes browsing the App Catalog, selecting the Bookmark App, naming it, and inserting the desired URL.

Solution

The following video shows how to create a bookmark app.


 

Bookmark apps direct users to a specific web page using Okta applications. The users do not need credentials and simply work as normal bookmarks on any browser.

  1. Be sure to log in to the Okta portal as an Admin.

  2. Expand the Applications drop-down in the left pane, then click Applications.

  3. Click Browse App Catalog.

  4. Search for "Bookmark App", select it from the list of results, and click Add in the left pane.

  5. Choose an app name. In this example, "Type the desired name" will be the display name.

  6. Copy the URL to directly link into the URL box:

  7. Click Save.

  8. Assign users to test.
