Solution

Configuring Custom Email Provider with an App Password

An App Password is a 16-digit passcode that gives a less secure app or device permission to access your Google Account. App passwords can only be used with accounts that have 2-Step Verification turned on.

Product Roadmap:

Okta is planning to add support for OAuth2 SMTP. OAuth2 can be used to authenticate when sending SMTP messages by replacing the traditional username/password authentication with an OAuth2 token. This additional configuration option can be used when setting up a Custom Email Provider if the SMTP service supports it.
