This article addresses how Keeper (or another password management solution) is used for account verification. When trying to use the two-factor authentication to access Okta, the QR code returns the error:

- Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
- Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
The upgrade from Okta Classic Engine to Okta Identity Engine (OIE).
With the upgrade from Okta Classic to Okta Identity Engine (OIE), QR codes generated for Okta Verify can only be scanned and used by the Okta Verify application. Okta does not support or recommend adding Okta Verify to other applications. Multi-factor authentication with Okta Verify is only supported through the Okta Verify app. Users of password managers or other third-party tools should switch to using the Okta Verify app directly for MFA.
