The user cannot change the client authentication from a public key and private key in the API Services App, even though public keys have been added and the following error message appears:

Add an active key or URL in the Public Keys section

An active client authentication (sig) key or URL is required.

• Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
• Client authentication

The client credentials are being updated before the public key is fully reflected in the system.

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:

1. Edit the public key as required.
2. Reload the browser.
3. Change the client authentication to Public key / Private key.
4. Click Save.
