Overview

This article details how an attribute can be user-edited. End users can edit an attribute as long as it is sourced by Okta and set to Read/Write for user editing.

To enable users to edit attributes, Okta must be the authoritative source for those attributes. This entails achieving attribute-level source, which involves Okta assuming exclusive management control over the specific attributes.

 

To set the attribute as mastered by Okta:

  1. Navigate to Directory > Profile Editor and click on User(default) .

  2. Navigate to the desired attribute and press on the "i' sign .

  3. On the pop-up, change the Source priority to Inherit from Okta and User permission to Read-Write.

  4. Press the Button button.

Configuration

  1. Now the attribute can be editable from the Okta User Dashboard in the top right corner, expanding the user menu.

  1. Click Settings and press Button , and now the attribute can be edited and saved by pressing the Button button.
