Okta Identity Engine
Overview

The Adobe application in the Okta Integration Network (OIN) uses the Secure Web Authentication (SWA) protocol. If Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is required, administrators can configure a custom SAML application in Okta after Adobe provisions the tenant to accept SAML connections.

Applies To
  • Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
  • Okta Classic Engine
  • Single Sign-On (SSO)
  • Secure Web Authentication (SWA)
  • Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)
Solution

How is Adobe integrated with Okta using SWA?

Add the Adobe application from the Okta Integration Network catalog, configure the general and sign-on settings, and assign the application to users or groups.

  1. In the Okta Admin Console, navigate to Applications > Applications and select Browse App Catalog.

Browse App Catalog

  1. Enter Adobe in the search bar and select the required option from the dropdown menu. Select See All Results if the application is not immediately visible.

Adobe app

  1. Select the desired option and click Add Integration.

Add Integration

  1. Select the desired options on the General Settings tab and click Next.
  2. Select the options that best describe the desired configuration on the sign-on options tab and click Done.
  3. Click Assign on the Assignments tab and select Assign to People or Assign to Groups from the dropdown menu.

Assign button

  1. Enter the name of the person or group in the search bar, and click Assign next to the appropriate result.
  2. Click Done once all people or groups are assigned.

NOTE:

  • If the configuration does not function as expected or a different issue occurs, consider integrating Adobe using the Template 2 Page Plugin App.
  • To configure the Template 2 Page Plugin App, review the Related Reference section for creating a custom SWA application.
  • If the Adobe URLs are too long, shorten them using a URL shortener tool.

How is a custom SAML application configured for Adobe?

Verify with Adobe support that the tenant accepts SAML endpoints and connections. Once confirmed, create a custom SAML application in Okta. Okta does not provide the specific metadata required for this custom configuration. Contact the Service Provider (SP) support at Adobe to obtain the exact metadata required for the specific tenant or account.
