Add a Custom BambooHR Attribute to Okta
Last Updated:
Overview
Administrators can add a custom attribute from BambooHR to Okta by refreshing the attribute list in the Profile Editor. Okta imports BambooHR provisioning attributes only from the BambooHR User object schema, not the BambooHR custom table.
Applies To
- Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
- Okta Classic Engine
- BambooHR
- Provisioning
- Schema Discovery
- Profile Editor
Solution
How does an administrator add a custom BambooHR attribute to Okta?
Review the custom attribute in BambooHR, navigate to the Profile Editor in the Admin Console, select the BambooHR User profile, refresh the attribute list to discover the schema, and save the required custom attribute.
NOTE: Okta imports BambooHR provisioning attributes only from the BambooHR User object schema, not the BambooHR custom table.
- Verify the custom attribute exists in BambooHR.
- Navigate to the Okta Admin Console.
- Go to Directory > Profile Editor.
- Select the BambooHR User profile.
- Select Add Attribute.
- Select Refresh Attribute List to refresh the attribute schema. Okta performs a schema discovery to populate the list of available application attributes.
- Select the required custom attribute from the list, then select Save.
- Refresh the page and confirm that the custom attribute appears in the profile.
