Zscalar 2.0 Provisioning Error "Domain name is not registered or not associated with current Identity Provider"
Okta Integration Network
Overview

Zscalar 2.0 provisioning flow fails with the following error visible in the Okta dashboard:

Automatic provisioning of user testuser to app Zscaler 2.0 failed: Error while creating user testuser@external.test.com : . Errors reported by remote server: Domain name is not registered or not associated with current Identity Provider

Error Message

Applies To
  • Zscaler 2.0
  • Provisioning
Cause

If 2 domains are registered in Zscaler. For example, test.com and external.test.com.

The Zscaler application from Okta can only hold one domain in the general tab when integrating the application with Okta. For example, the test.com domain is added in the Zscaler 2.0 app's General tab.

As external.test.com is not registered on Okta's side, when trying to provision an account with external.test.com domain into Zscaler, for example, testuser@external.test.com, it will fail because the domain name external.test.com is not registered or associated with Okta.

Solution

The Zscaler application from Okta can only hold one domain in the general tab when integrating the application with Okta. For two domains, a second Zscaler application with that domain should be created.
