What to Expect During the Okta Identity Engine Upgrade

Here’s what you can expect in each phase of your Okta Identity Engine upgrade.
Pre-upgrade
- Admins will receive an email 4-6 weeks before their upgrade with a scheduled date and time for their upgrade
- Admins will receive an email 3 days before their scheduled upgrade
- Admins will see a persistent notification in the admin console dashboard reminding them when their upgrade will be performed
- Admins are encouraged to review the Okta Identity Engine upgrade hub to prepare for the upgrade and to create an Okta Identity Engine free trial org to compare the differences between the two platforms
Upgrade day
- No downtime for end users or admins
- Org configurations will be seamlessly migrated to the new platform, keeping the org settings the same
- Most upgrades will take only a few minutes to complete
Validation
- Admins should login to their org and explore the new Okta Identity Platform
- Admins should follow the post-upgrade best practices and verify their org functionality
- Reach out to support if you encounter any problems or issues
