What Happens when Provisioning is Disabled for an Application

Okta Integration Network
Okta Classic Engine
Okta Identity Engine

Overview

This article discusses what happens when provisioning is disabled in an application.

Applies To

  • Provisioning

Solution

If provisioning is disabled entirely in an application, the Okta users assigned to the application will not be deactivated in Okta. The users will still remain assigned to the application and active in Okta, but it will prevent them from being updated in the future. If the application is also using the Profile & Lifecycle Sourcing option, all the users that are assigned to the application will become Okta-sourced.
