Overview

When saving the Office 365 provisioning settings, an error appears in the Okta dashboard:

There was a failure while saving provisioning settings. Please grant consent by authenticating with Microsoft Graph on the Integrations page.

Solution

In order to be able to save the Office 365 provisioning settings:

  1. Click on the Sign On tab.
  2. Click Edit, and check the Allow administrators to consent for Advanced API access box (next to the Advanced API Access).

       

  1. A Microsoft pop-up will ask for authentication in Microsoft with a @onmicrosoft.com global admin account that is not subject to Microsoft's multi-factor authentication or conditional access policies.
