In Microsoft Office 365, if a user has a duplicate identity and Okta tries to perform a push, this error is encountered:
Could not push profile for Office 365 user prefix@domain.com, received error: 400 Uniqueness violation. Property: ProxyAddresses.

The user in AD is unique and is also unique in Okta, but in Office, they have a second identity, with a slightly different username, for example:

The first letter of the firstName and the lastName as the username prefix.

Where the new user has firstName + . + lastName as the username prefix.
As such, the two identities are seen as unique. However, their proxy addresses are the same, so the new user that Okta is trying to update can not be provided with the second user's proxy address.
To resolve this:
- The duplicate user has to be removed from Azure Directory.
- Or the new user has to be provided with a different Proxy Address in Active Directory to be pushed by Okta to Office 365.
