Change the Frequency of Okta MFA Prompts when Users Edit their Security Factors in Account Settings
Okta Identity Engine
Administration
Overview

In Okta Identity Engine (OIE), in the End-user Dashboard account settings (top right corner), Okta prompts for Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) each time a user tries to register/reset or remove a security factor. This article discusses whether it is possible to change this behavior.

Applies To
  • Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
Solution

It is not currently possible to change the frequency with which Okta prompts the user for MFA when modifying the factors in the Security Methods section of their Okta account settings. It was designed this way in order to keep the user's account as secure as possible.
