Overview

This article describes how to map windowsUserName from Okta to ASA and to Windows Servers.

Solution

  1. Access Okta Admin Console.
  2. Navigate to Directory > Profile Editor > Apps > ASA (ScaleFT) application > Profile.
  3. Create a custom string attribute as shown below;

Data type: string
External name: windowsUserName
External namespace: urn:scim:schemas:scaleft:user:1.0
Attribute Length: Between 1 and 255
Attribute type: Personal

  1. Next, create the string windowsUserName in Okta's Profile (Directory > Profile Editor > Okta > Profile > Create Add Attribute).
  2. Navigate to ASA's Mappings (Directory > Profile Editor > Apps > ASA - ScaleFT App > Mappings Okta to ASA).
  3. Map windowsUserName from Okta to windowsUserName in ASA.
  4. Access Advanced Server Access dashboard > Projects > Users.
  5. Click on the gear icon next to the user and click Edit Attributes.
  6. Under the Windows Username field, click to check the box to overwrite the field, and enter the desired username value.
