This article describes how to map the employeeType attribute from AD to Okta.

Solution
- Navigate to the Local Active Directory and ensure there is value in the employeeType attribute.
- Navigate to the Okta Admin Console.
- Navigate to Directory > Profile Editor > Directories > Click on Profile of the Active Directory in question.
- Click Add Attribute > Click on Refresh Attribute List.
- Search for employeeType > Select it and add it.
- Navigate to the Profile Editor page again, and click on Okta Profile to create a custom attribute.
- Click Add Attribute > string > Display name: Employee Type > Variable name: employeeType > Save.
- Navigate back to Directory > Profile Editor > Directories > Active Directory in question > Mappings > AD to Okta.
- Locate employeeType from the Okta User Profile side, then search for employeeType from the appuser side to map it > Save.
- Click on Apply Updates now.
- Next, run a Full import from Active Directory.
