This article details how to configure a Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) application so that all users can log into the app with a single shared account.

Application Username format
Solution

Navigate to the SAML application from the Okta Admin Console > Applications > Applications.

Click on the Sign on tab > Edit.

Set the Application username format to Custom.

In the expression box, enter the username of the shared account (for example,
"example@domain.com").
NOTE: Make sure to include the quotes" ". -
Save the settings.

Now, assign the users/groups to the application as needed. All users will get the same app username as defined.
