How to Disable MFA for LDAP Interface Authentication

Overview

This article provides the steps involved in disabling MFA for LDAP Interface authentication.

Solution

To accomplish this, it is necessary to create a global session policy that allows for the bypassing of MFA. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Log in to the Okta Admin Console.

  2. Navigate to the Security tab and select Global Session Policy.

  3. Create a new policy by clicking on the Add Policy button.

  4. Name the policy and select the user group to which the policy should apply.

  5. Click on the Add Rule button.

  6. In the Policy Settings section, set AND Authenticates via LDAP Interface from the drop-down menu.

  7. Set Multifactor authentication (MFA) is to Not required.

  8. Save the new policy by clicking on the Create Rule button.
