Google Workspace Push Group Error: "Invalid Input: groupKey"
Okta Classic Engine
Okta Identity Engine
Okta Integration Network
Overview
When pushing groups from Okta to Google Workspace, the following error may be received:

Failed on 01-30-2023 00:00:01PM UTC: Unable to update Group Push mapping target App group group_name_over_64_characters: Failed to create group group group_name_over_64_characters. Invalid Input: groupKey may be encountered.
Applies To
  • Google Workspace
  • SCIM
  • Group Push
Cause
When pushing the group to Workspace, a new group will be created with the pushed group's name, which will then replicate the groupKey group's attribute. Although the name character limit is set at 73 characters, as stated in the Name Guidelines for Users and Groups article, the groupKey character limit is set at 64 characters, and the group push will fail.
Solution

For the group push feature to be functional, the group name must adhere to Google Workspace's naming conventions and be within 64 characters.
