When attempting to view a user profile from the admin dashboard, an admin may receive the error:
HTTP 500: Internal Server Error
- Admin Console
- User Profile
This issue is caused by duplicate or erroneous SMS Factor data, which can happen in rare circumstances during upgrades from Okta Classic Engine to Okta Identity Engine (OIE) or when the user deletes and re-registers the same mobile number in quick succession.
This is resolved by resetting MFA for the user in question. However, due to the user profile page displaying an error the user's MFA must be reset via API.
