On March 2023, Okta is enacting a change to our Enterprise / One-App subscription in line with your purchased entitlements.

What is happening?

Starting in March 2023, we will be restricting the ability to create custom authorization servers without the purchase of the API Access Management SKU. We are making this change to ensure customers remain in compliance with their purchased subscriptions.

Your account’s Enterprise / One-App subscription entitles you to the use of the default custom authorization server at no extra cost. You will retain full access to any custom authorization servers already created. This change aligns with Okta’s Product Subscription Reference Guide which states that the API Access Management SKU provides the ability to control access and authorization to your APIs and microservices based on OAuth2.0.

When will this come into effect?

This change will take place alongside Okta’s March 2023 release.

Can I still create a custom authorization server?

An Enterprise / One-App subscription entitles customers to the use of the default custom authorization server at no extra cost.

What happens to custom authorization servers that have already been created?

Customers will retain full access to any custom authorization servers already created.

I need to create additional custom authorization servers, what can I do?
