Directories
Okta Identity Engine
Overview

Creating, importing, and mapping custom Active Directory attributes will not show the correct attribute language in Okta.

  • For example, Unicode-based attributes appear as Base64 after being mapped in Okta.
Applies To
  • Active Directory
  • Custom Active Directory Attributes
  • Attribute Mapping
Cause
Active Directory Agents will read new custom attributes as Base64 until they are restarted.
Solution

After importing and mapping the custom AD attributes, restart every Okta AD agent connected to the domain and perform a Full Import.
