zg8mw (zg8mw) asked a question.

How Does Okta Verify Ownership for Locked Out Admin Accounts?

Hi Okta Community,

I have a question regarding the admin account recovery process when an Okta super admin account gets locked out.

Based on Okta's documentation, if all super admins are locked out and cannot reset their credentials, we need to contact Okta Support for assistance. However, I want to understand the exact verification process that Okta follows before unlocking an admin account.

Hello @zg8mw (zg8mw) , thank you for contacting Okta Community.

There is a set of rigorous verifications that our Support engineers will conduct in order to ensure the super admin of the org is really who they claim they are. If you have a paid account, you can discuss this matter with your Okta Account Executive and/or Customer Success Manager.

If do not have a paid account but are interested in getting one, you can contact our Sales team.

    Regards.
