s0jvy (s0jvy) asked a question.

OKTA SMS x 2 received by user at same time . Header is different. time stamps different

Image is not available

Hi, the first SMS at 11:56am is not in our OKTA logs but the 2nd isnt.

Has the same wording in your verification in both

Why is the OKTA and Okta lettering different in each sms message?

Has the message been sent from the secondary sms provider?

The user did complain about OKTA authenticate option timed out and slow.

The time date stamp for these sms was July 4 Eastern Standard Time.

Any clues to where to look?

  • Hi @s0jvy (s0jvy) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

Okta uses third party service providers for the SMS services. In the case of failure or timeouts, it would automatically switch to the alternate provider so it is conceivable that this is what you are experiencing.
