24lnq (24lnq) asked a question.
My company is developing an advanced VPN solution for businesses. The product will provide a dashboard where employees can access various resources (SaaS solutions, internal websites, etc...) they should have access to. We want to support SSO so the employee can go directly from their Dashboard to any resource which might have a login managed by Okta by that business (just to clarify further - in this scenario the business already has an Okta account and is using it for their employees logins). What Okta API would my company use in order to be able to do SSO for the employee and how would we approach doing this with the API?
A second question - we want to use Okta to populate the employee list they have for the business into our system - I'm presuming this is feasible - aside from how to do this, the other question is how to handle automatically adding new employees that the business has added to Okta into our system after we get the initial list of employees?
Thanks!

Hi @24lnq (24lnq) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!
These questions are rather broad and vague at the same time, but I'll do my best to help you get started. I would however recommend reaching out to your Account Executive and discussing the possibility of setting up a meeting with a dedicated resource to go over the matter in-depth.
For the first questions:
>Core API documentation for general things:
https://developer.okta.com/docs/reference/core-okta-api/
>Authentication API:
https://developer.okta.com/docs/reference/api/authn/
For the second question, you can look into perhaps implementing SCIM Provisioning:
https://help.okta.com/en-us/Content/Topics/Apps/Apps_App_Integration_Wizard_SCIM.htm
My advice would also be to reach out to the dedicated Developer Forum devforum.okta.com to take advantage of their expertise.
While we'll do our best to answer all of your questions here, this medium is more inclined towards Okta core products and features (non-developer work).
If my answers helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.
Hope my answer helps!
