Unpair old device Okta Verify

Hi,

I have a new phone and I’m trying to setup it on okta verify but, I can’t because my old device is paried with this account, and my IT team told me to ask for support here. Someone can help me?

Thanks in advence!

  • Hi @9744s (9744s) - at present we only allow Okta Verify to be installed on one mobile device per okta account. You got two options here:

    1) If you can login to Okta without your old phone, navigate to your profile settings, go to the extra verification section and remove the previous Okta Verify and setup a new one.

    OR

    2) Your Okta Admin can look up your profile, go to more actions --> reset multifactor -> select okta verify. Then depending on how your org policies are setup, either do a new setup upon next login to Okta or post login go to your profile settings to set it up the new okta verify.

A future roadmap item, would address this use case more elegantly, by enabling more flexibility in this regard found here - https://www.okta.com/platform/devices/
