Reuse a Username from a Deactivated User

Sep 14, 2015 | by Thomas Hill in Security

Original Author: Ed Sawma, Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Okta

Okta maintains all identities of deactivated users in the system for your audit purposes. One issue we have heard often, is the desire to re-use a username of a deactivated user.

We now have in Early Access (EA) a new feature that lets you "Tombstone" a username. This frees up that username for use by a new user, but still keeps all the data intact for the deactived user.

Would be helpful if this could also be enabled as an automated process.  Tombstone username when account is no longer found in Active Directory
