Name, Company, Title:
Chris Sanchez, kCura, DevOps Systems Administrator

Tell us a bit about yourself and your role:
I’ve been working in IT since I got my start with Apple as a Mac Genius back in 2007.  After shifting from retail to Apple Corporate, I spent the next 7-8 years as an Apple Certified Trainer and Systems Administrator implementing enterprise Mac and iOS solutions.  For the last 2 years I have worked at kCura in various IT roles.  My role today has a DevOps focus, ensuring our developers have the tools they need from IT to build our e-Discovery software platform, Relativity.

How long have you been an Okta customer?
We have been using Okta for almost 2 years.

How has your role evolved since first using Okta?
Prior to Okta, there was a lot of manual management needed to provision access to applications for our end-users.  With Okta and OMM, I am now able to quickly provision access to applications through Active Directory, ensuring their user experience is seamless across devices.

What's your best advice for someone just starting with Okta?
Communication.  Make sure your users understand the benefits of Okta prior to your rollout.  Having a great communication plan will drive user adoption, which, in turn, will increase productivity once they see how easy it is to use.

How would you describe your company culture?
kCura strives to be a great software company where team members are excited to come to work, and have the support they need to bring their best.

What keeps you coming back to the Okta Community?
Whenever I have a question about managing Okta, I can always count on the community to have a well thought-out answer, backed by sound reasoning.

Favorite Okta memory:
Doing the Scoop and Hammer with Jeremy Russell at the Oktane15 party and then ending the night at Secret Pizza.

Okta in one word/phrase:
Easy to use, easy to manage.

Favorite technology (personal or business):
Personal: Anything Apple
Business: NGINX

What would you do without Okta?
Spend way too much time provisioning apps and logins for the build tools our developers need.

If you had more time in the day, what would you do?
Mountain biking, skateboarding, and learn to play the piano.

Favorite travel destination:
Munich, Germany

Best meal you’ve ever had:
Guinness Braised Beef Short Ribs at the Guinness Brewery in Dublin, Ireland

Words to live by:
Why bother with a cunning plan when a simple one will do?

Favorite sports team:
Chicago Blackhawks

How do you stay up to date with technology news?
Podcasts, tech websites, and of course the Chicago Okta User Group meetings.

Why are you looking forward to Oktane16?
I have the opportunity this year to sit on the “Adopting your Mobility Management Solution” panel, so it’s exciting to have the opportunity to answer questions from users who are thinking about giving OMM a try!

Thanks Chris! Want to hear more? It’s not too late to register for Oktane16.
