Okta API Support for Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS)

Aug 21, 2015 | by Thomas Hill in Okta API

Original Author: Ed Sawma, Sr. Product Marketing, Manager, Okta

CORS is a browser feature that allows JavaScript on your sites to make requests to the Okta API.  Modern web apps are increasingly being built as single page web apps, where JavaScript runs on the client side as the entire app on one page.  Since there are no HTTP POST requests, and no server-side app that is accessing APIs, the JavaScript running on the client must reach out to APIs directly.  CORS allows your JavaScript app to reach out to the Okta API.

For information on CORS settings, see Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS). For information on using CORS in the Okta API, see Enabling CORS on the Okta Developer site.
