Today, I want to tell you about our continued investment in Office 365. We are announcing the Early Access release of our enhanced provisioning functionality which allows admins to synchronize extended user profiles, as well as distribution lists, contacts, and resources (such as conference rooms), all with our simple, lightweight agent.
What this exciting landmark means is that if you’ve finished your migration to Office 365, you can turn off that old DirSync or AADConnect server and move to Okta’s enhanced Office 365 provisioning. To get involved in the Early Access process, get in touch with our team at Okta Support who can get this turned on in your Okta Tenant. We do strongly recommend involving our Professional Services team for assistance in your transition between provisioning methods in Office 365, however, we have updated our Office 365 Deployment Guide to give you more information about the end-to-end process.
If you’re still in the process of migrating to Office 365, we haven’t forgotten about you! Be sure to check out our article on Roles/Licenses Management functionality that is built from the ground up to help you automatically manage licensing and roles for your users, even when using synchronization technologies outside of Okta (such as AADConnect).
We’re continuing to innovate and expand on our provisioning capabilities for Office 365, as well as the thousands of applications in the Okta Application Network. So be sure to check back soon to stay up to date on our next series of enhancements.
