Tell us a bit about yourself and your role:
I build products and services designed to solve large problems. My teams follow agile development practices so that we're always focused on what's important and consistently asking for feedback.
How long have you been an Okta customer?
Since August 2013.
How has your role evolved since first using Okta?
I spend considerably less time solving maintenance problems and more time focused on system architecture and company problems.
What's your best advice for someone just starting with Okta?
Decide what Okta is for your company and how it will best fit in your ecosystem of tools. Get feedback from your employees on what problems they're facing, and implement to solve those problems first.
How would you describe your company culture?
Collaborative, challenging, and ever-changing.
What keeps you coming back to the Okta Community?
We're constantly pushing the capabilities of Okta, which makes it invaluable to have a channel where we can communicate with product managers about design decisions, bugs, and feature requests.
Favorite Okta memory...
Using Okta to manage transitioning 2000 employees from two separate Google Apps domains into a consolidated one. The entire process took about an hour, most of which was checking our work before we flipped the switch.
Okta in one word/phrase...
A SaaS focused identity management hub.
Favorite technology (personal or business)
Integrated wireless radios.
What would you do without Okta?
We would have built similar tools to solve our identity and application management needs, but would have needed to assemble a dedicated team for just those tools.
How do you stay up to date with technology news?
I regularly check in on product updates for essential tools and keep my ear to the ground through technical news site.
