When will Jira 7 be implemented?

We're trying to move from the "Cloud" version of Jira to the on-prem version. Jira 7 has been out for several weeks now and our migration process is halted because Okta will not work at all with the new version. Is there an ETA for the new version? Is it actually in the queue?

Thanks in advance!

Just as an FYI for anyone who finds this thread, the Jira plugin from Okta has been updated to work with Jira 7! We haven't had a chance to implement yet, but it's available now.

Unfortunately all the information I have heard is that it is 'on the roadmap' Very frustrating this week when the Confluence jar was updated, and the only update to the Jira jar was to change the version number to keep it aligned! Even round numbers (sometime this year? This quarter? Dropping support?) would allow us to plan our other projects around this.

Hey Cathy - we've been doing some testing with Bitium's SAML plugin. Ironically, it works better than Okta's plugin and it supports Jira 7 already: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.bitium.jira.SAML2PluginJira/server/overview

Nice! Thanks Justin! We'd found a for-pay Jira SAML plugin that cost an arm and a leg, but it worked with the trial version and Okta. Does provisioning work with this? Do we have to use the "custom" app button?

I don't believe it does. We used a SAML 2.0 template + the Bitium plugin with Jira. We're populating Jira users and groups with Active Directory. Does the paid plugin you found support provisioning, deprovisioning, group/attribute mapping, etc.?
