Why am I receiving "This choice creates a conflict" error?

After creating a new user in AD, then running a Full Import, the user appears with the message "This choice creates a conflict" and I cannot go any further.

I created the user in directly in AD in the same geographic OU as many other existing users.

Hi Rocky,

It's normally if Okta detects another account with the same 'firstname' and 'surname' values in either Okta or AD.

Also can you check you have 'Create Users' ticked under 'Directory Integrations' > 'Settings'.

Facing the same issue however I don't see any option to move forward except ignoring this user. I want to create a new account as i am not able to find out any other account with same first name and last name but i cannot do that

I get many of these a week (30,000 ish users total)

You need to create a new account with a first.last3@domain.com type username (stick a number in there somewhere!), but don't activate that user.

Then go back to your import screen, select 'Okta user I specify' for the conflict, and point it to the new user
